That was quite an evening. I set out this week to reach 25.000 PAL and become half an Palnet-orca. Suddenly today SteemLeo appeared on stage and dropped me in LEO the number I had staked in PAL at that moment. Seeing that a lot of people dumped there dropped LEO I could not resist the temptation and try to become half an orca in LEO as well.
In the end I overshot a bit and bought more than I needed to become half an LEO-orca. It was fun pursuing this goal I had set myself. Having reached it (also in PAL) it is time to cool down. And contemplate how to use the stake I have.
As these platforms are also based on the Steem blockchain a vote on SteemLeo is a vote on Palnet as well. That is, if the post in question features both tags. A vote costs voting power. Each vote costs Steem voting power and on top the voting power of the platform the post carries the tag of. So voting and curating is going to take a bit of monitoring of al the different voting powers to prevent unwanted or unexpected depletion of one of the voting powers.
The numbers are wildly fluctuating at the moment on Palnet. A vote that delivers 0.5 PAL, seems to be worth seems to be worth 44 LEO one moment and 32 the next. I did a self vote at full voting power (yes, I know, shame on me...) and that one fluctuates between well over 600 and well below 200. So, I have no idea what voting power is going to turn to be worth on LEO.
I guess we'll see, when not only I have cooled a bit, but the general frenzy is over as well. Though if you still have some cash or spare coins or tokens lying around, I can only say it can be a good investment to buy some LEO. They are still being dumped, so you have the chance to get them at a nice price.
Totally not related remark: as the platform is so new, you can actually reach the end of the "New" page....
