Nearly half a million women and men have participated in symbolic marriages with the tree in Mexico, in protest of the deforestation and illegally cutting trees. Several women of Jicinto Amalpas, in the country's Waqqaq province, have been engaged in symbolic marriages with trees. At the time of marriage, they were wearing traditional white clothes.
The arrangement of 'Mary A Tree' has been held in the name of organizing an organization named Badani for a long time.
The woman named Eva Motlova who participated in that marriage said, "I think almost half of the women and men's trees have got married." They promised to protect trees.
Another environmental worker said, "I married this tree as a symbol." But I promise to plant more trees through this. Our commitment to maintaining the balance of the environment day after day.
