The Last Of Us episode 2 || 5 differences between the HBO series and the video game [ING/ESP].
Hello, hello, beautiful Hive community! One of the most fervent desires I had to join the platform, was to be able to upload content to this striking and interesting film community; I really am a lover of the seventh art and its derivatives, and I'm glad to finally be here to share my first post.
I must confess that I am a lover of The Last Of Us videogame and I was waiting for its series with great anxiousness, despite the fact that most of its fans were very afraid with the previews and promotional images regarding the production, for me it was like fanning the flame of the need to see it. I am very happy with the result of the series so far, and I am happy to be able to reach Hive just in this season of premieres, although I thought of doing a review, I wanted to make a better contribution of my great passion for the game and the affection I am having for the series.
For that reason here I present a post that I dedicated some time to: the differences of episode two of The Last Of Us that was released last Sunday January 22 with respect to the videogame, I hope you like it.
First of all I want to emphasize that having differences or added scenes that do not appear in the video game does not mean that the series is bad or going down bad steps, on the contrary, it enriches the main plot and expands the story more. Finally, what you are about to read contains spoilers, if you haven't seen the chapter STOP for a moment and go enjoy such a good series.
Now yes, with nothing more to add we begin.
1 - Origin of the infection and its consequences.
A weak point that the video game has is how little we know about the beginning of the infection and the consequences it took to face it, different from the series that apparently seeks to teach us the beginning of the pandemic, we can notice that in a flashback at the beginning of the episode, when the Thai military force takes a teacher expert in mycology to study the strange phenomenon of a corpse infected by the fungus, thus showing one of the first infected in history.
They also talk about the only way to stop the fungus from spreading is to bomb the cities, a radical government decision that is rarely mentioned in the game.
2 - Climate change.
The episode continues with the exploration of Joel, Tess and Ellie; the first change we can notice is that the entire journey to take Ellie to the capitol takes place on a sunny day, unlike the game that takes place at night and rain, personally I prefer the dark and dense atmosphere that is acquired in the video game, giving a more dark and exciting touch to the adventure.
3 -The infected are connected.
Something totally original of the series is the fact that the infected are linked through the Cordyceps fungus and that it works as a network underground, that makes that if an infected is attacked, other infected that are connected to it (even if it is miles away) will be alerted to come and attack the threat, this does not work this way in the video game, since they have no way to communicate with each other. This is something new, but with a lot of potential that can give more dynamics to the series.
4 - The death of Tess.
I think the biggest difference of the whole episode is the death of Tess, although the situation is the same, the way she dies has a big change in comparison, for starters that in the series Tess dies in an explosion caused by herself while she stays behind to hold back a wave of infected, so Joel and Ellie can escape; in the video game is the same, but instead of infected, she stays behind to hold back a group of military soldiers who had been following her steps since they left the city, thus dying in an exchange of gunfire between her and the soldiers.
5 - Escape from the capitol.
In the series the next scene after the sacrifice of Tess we see Joel and Ellie escaping from the capitol giving way to understand that they will have no more interaction with that place, but in the video game we stay a while longer inside the building, trying to escape from the soldiers who are carefully chasing us. A final detail is that in the series Tess before dying mentions to Joel to take Ellie with Bill and Frank giving a small reference of what is coming in the next chapter, but in the video game Tess asks him to take her to her brother Tommy, since surely he would know where the location of the base of the fireflies is.
Thank you for having made it this far, I will keep an eye out for more content from this magnificent series.

5 diferencias entre la serie HBO The Last Of Us y el Videojuego
¡Hola, hola, bella comunidad Hive!
