I still recall those moments when as a kid I'd play this song and feel like the world was mine.
That I could rise to whatever heights I set my sights on, attain the peak of any mountain, astound the world with my dashing personality and intellect.
And have my family with me through it all.
Well, life has taught me I was being naive then, but it has also shown me I had some of my facts right. I can be whatever I aspire to, provided I'm ready to put in the work to get there. That given time and dedication, no mountain is insurmountable.
So imagine the nostalgia I felt when I heard this track playing recently. To those who watched the movie back then, you'll most likely be able to relate. And to our parents who gave us this as well as other wonderful memories, we love you.
Lion King : We Are One
As you go through life you'll see
There is so much that we
Don't understand
And the only thing we know
Is things don't always go
The way we planned
But you see everyday that we'll never turn away
When it seems all your dreams come undone
We will stand by your side
Filled with hope and filled with pride
We are more than we are
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
If there's so much I must be
Can I still just be me
The way I am
Can I trust in my own heart
Or am I just one part
Of some big land
Even those who are gone
Are with us as we go on
Your journey has only begun
Tears of pain tears of joy
One thing nothing can destroy
Is our pride deep inside
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
We are one you and I
We are like the earth and sky
One family under the sun
All the wisdom to lead
All the courage that you need
You will find when you see
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
Family family
We are one
