Judas went up to him,
And with a kiss sold him.
He painted him with guilt.
All for 30 pieces of silver.
Arrested, beaten , spat on and mocked,
He stood before the council of the ungodly.
Questioned by mortal beings,
He was sentenced to death for no just cause.
Crucified by Romans who were just humans,
Drank gall and vinegar that our lives might be sweet.
At the cross his supremacy is acknowledged,
Even soldiers proclaimed him "JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS".
The temple curtain could not withstand his power,
It divided into two from top to bottom.
He gave up the ghost and said it is finished,
And with those words ended all our sufferings and worries.
He spent three days in the grave,
Paying the tithe for the ransom Judas collected.
He willingly went to the cross for us all,
He endured all these for mankind's sake.
Gave up the ghost for you and me,
Oh! What manner of love could this be.
And with his death he bridged the gap,
Between us and our Father.
Offered us another shot at redemption
And by his stripes we are made whole.
Oh what a wonder Jesus is,
A brother, a friend he has proven himself.
And he promises to be there for us,
Come rain, come shine.
