It's true, this happened to my stepsister. Fortunately for her, I was the first person they tried to scam, and I can smell when things aren't right, so I called her while I was still on the phone with the scammers, to sort out the truth.

They had not only copied her voice, they had managed to snag some video from her phone that they sent to me as 'proof' that they were her.

If they had called my stepmom first, they would have taken everything she had.
