Hahaha, yes the old stick and a hook. We were lucky as we had our own dams on the farm when I was a child and so we didn't need a license. When the droughts came and the water was low, we even fished by using garden forks as spears.

Netting is a specialised affair and I havesome insight into it, but also haven't done it myself.
Fortunately we are near the beach and I can watch the guys.

Some fishermen also showed me how they collect "Red Bait" and I was totally surprised.
I will do a post about it soon.
