I stopped the car to take a shot of this view, and then something happened.
067.jpg

Suddenly the sky turned into a bird flying fiesta, and I was so glad that I stopped the car to get the cloud in the picture above, as you will see what took place all of a sudden below. I think that it was an Egyptian goose competition, as three lots came over, and let me tell you that I was very glad to see it. The cloud was totally forgotten, as I changed my focus from the clouds to get the flying birds.
I am sure that you would have done the same.

The problem that I have with my camera, is that I have to use generic batteries, and when I extend the zoom, as I did in this case, then it runs the battery down very fast. The proper Canon batteries last a long time, but they are very expensive, and they last for three days instead of the generics, as they only last for one day. But it is what it is, as I will rather feed a few hungry children than buying expensive batteries.
But I digress and come to have a look at the birds.

This was when I saw them just after I had taken the cloud shot in the tag picture. At this stage I thought that I was lucky to get one shot of birds and imagine my surprise when they just kept on appearing.

One lot of 4 birds, another lot of 5 birds, and another lot of 6 birds. (5 shots below)

Now how is this for patience.

I saw the Pied Crow at the top of a tree at a far distance, and I decided to wait for it to fly. The wind was shaking and blowing the tree from side to side, and I prayed that my camera battery would not conk in while I waited with an extended zoom. The spare battery was at home charging, and if the camera switched off, then I would have waited for nothing. Simply to return home sulking. Lol. Mind you it has happened to me a few times before, but I have learnt to simply accept it.
In this case luck was with me.

The wind was really rattling that tree, and I kept on praying that the crow would fly, as my camera arm was starting to get lame.

But no, that crow just kept on sitting there until......!

Bang! Finally, and finally the crow took off and I got it spot on.

So, how's all of this for some birdy action? And it really felt like a splendid adventure for me, albeit I did not expect any of it, as my idea earlier was to share some weird cloud shapes that were on display. In any case, I will share the clouds and the mountain shots in another post, and I can tell you that there were really some great views on this day. In any case, we returned home, and I loaded my camera with a freshly charged battery Lol.
Such is life!

I hope that you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
