Fresh from my camera today at the mountains during the late afternoon!
Also known as the African Harrier Hawk (Polyboroides typus), this strong flyer was tired of the crows fighting with him when he raids in town and so he decided to scour the mountains for prey. Drifting easily on the thermals he cruised at a fair distance away, but I could get him on the zoom.
Here you can see him just below the one mountain peak!
To confuse you a bit more about the distance, look for him here above the mountains, a tiny black speck!
But the Canon Super Zoom made him to look very close to me!
A scary sight for all of the small animals on the mountains!
Relentlessly he twisted and turned in the sky, looking for food!
Rainy weather here and I love the cloudy sights at the mountains!
One of the last turns made by the hawk made before he slipped over the mountains!
There you can see him go and he soon disappeared in the clouds!
Why is it then that when a person prepares for a relaxed rainy day, the phone decides to go crazy. A call to see someone at the ocean side of town resulted in me scoring some beach photos, then a delivery at the mountain side of town resulted in these photos.
And our day ended here with this photo as a sample of sunset photos that I took, back once again to the ocean!
