Today I will show you some photos of a hot summer African day.
The first rule on a hot day, is to find some shade and this little bird below the cheetah statue found the ideal spot.
It is the summer season here now in South Africa and there are ample opportunities for photographers to enjoy. Colors abound everywhere and it's just a matter of saddling up to get out there. Sometime I also have to do a flower post again, as we have some beautiful fauna and flora areas in the Western Cape. Sadly they have to be patrolled daily, as there is a big demand for stolen plants on the black market.
But such is life and let me show you some random photos.
A perfect shady spot for the little bird to sit and watch for an insect lunch on the grass.
The clever bird is a Cape Wagtail (Motacilla capensis)
Dragonflies enjoy the hot sunlight and one came flying over trying to catch some bugs.
The water plants also enjoy the hot sunlight.
I took this photo from my files to show you how the pied crows also enjoy the hot days. Posted before when I was still on FB.
And then later in the day one has to wait for the sunset to color the drifting clouds.
Finally, a beautiful kaleidoscope in the early night sky.
I took all of the photos, except the pied crow one yesterday and the weatherman reckons that the temperatures will continue to rise every day toward the New Year's day. So the holiday crowds will flock to the beaches, and we can only hope that no more drownings will take place. Everyone is in a holiday spirit and our town is known as one of the "laid back" towns in the Cape. Also known for its friendliness. We share that view, as life is difficult in the country and people need all of the rest that they can get.
So, should you ever visit this area, you will really enjoy the splendor of nature.
