Hi lo, how low can you go?, the Starling asked the Dove.
Scoot fella, you have no chance so go and play somewhere else, the dove said.
I bet that you have never seen this before and it was also a first for me.
The Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) landed and I thought that the dove would chase it away. Normally the starlings can flee in seconds and they never stay on the bath for long, so I didn't know what this starling had in mind for today. The starling was talking to the dove and I moved closer to hear what they were saying.
Now watch, as something surprising was about to happen!
Ah!, let me hear you say that you are a chicken for a challenge, the starling said. The starling turned his head to hear.
Chicken?, Me?, Hop in and let me teach you a lesson in bathing, the dove said.
Unbelievable and I almost dropped my camera in surprise, as the starling hopped into the bath and took a nonchalant sip of water.
Both of them were looking at me, so as to say, Watch this!
And here below you can see the incredible bathing challenge, as both birds gave it their best. Unbelievable sights and a first for me.
Look carefully at the low starling at the front of the dove. He can definitely go down the lowest.
Then it was all over, the starling was gone and the dove looked perplexed?
Never would I have believed that a starling and a dove could bath together in the close confines of the bird bath. But this was a case of acceptance and unity and it was fun to watch.
Two totally different birds and yet, they shared as one.
Why can't we do this as humans in life?
I mean accepting others and not bathing together unless in a swimming pool :)
