This was a hard lesson to learn!
While we may have lost quite a bit, we could have lost so much more. That said, we are grateful for how this worked out. I learned a hard lesson this day, and it's a mistake I never want to make again, and I never want any of you to make it either.
While welding on the outside of our shipping container, I did not think about the heat I was putting into the container. The things we had stored inside the container combusted and a fire began to rage. Thankfully, the shipping container was sealed and eventually the fire ran out of oxygen, snuffing itself out. That alone saved us from losing everything we had stored.
What makes things worse is that Mama-Pepper only stored the things that she really wants to keep. She gives the rest of our extra stuff away. Yes, we lost a lot, but we are grateful. We still have to sort through the damage and take inventory on our losses.
