This is hands down the strangest Leopard Frog I've ever encountered!
While visiting Wisconsin recently, I got the opportunity to go herping with one of my cousins. We found toads, garter snakes and leopard frogs, but one frog was very peculiar. It had a blueish-teal discoloration on its head. I share a bit about it in this video.
Anyway, I featured that video in a post a few days ago, but I wanted to share some of the photos I took for the non-video people. In this post I'll show off a handful of the photos I was able to capture while checking this frog out. I'm guessing some sort of genetic mutation caused a lack of yellow pigment in the discolored areas, but who knows? Enjoy the photos!
