When we got our Shetland/Finn sheep, we heard a rumor.
The rumor was that one of the ewes may have already been bred. Since we have two ewes and a ram anyway, breeding is the goal, but to get a pregnant one right away is always a bonus. Here in this vlog I share a little more about the situation.

The larger ewe with the white on her face on the far left is the one in question. She's at least a year older than the other two anyway, so she's bigger to begin to begin with. One thing that makes it harder to determine is the wool. Soon we will shear the sheep which will give us a better look at her actual body, but at the moment it is still too early.
Since sheep have about a five month gestation period, and since we got these sheep about four months ago, we may have some little lambs soon. One interesting thing about Finn Sheep is that they are known for littering which means that having multiple lambs at one time is common. Wouldn't that be interesting to suddenly get three, four, or five lambs overnight? We certainly think so!
Time will tell, and we will be keeping an eye on her. The Jacobs Sheep are still doing well, but no more births yet. They were pregnant when we picked them up, which was another bonus. Whatever happens, we will keep you posted!
