If there is a mythical being that generates fascination mainly among girls and women (and some men) are the sirens. These beings represented as a dark half fish and half woman, although in classical antiquity depicting him as a being with woman's face and body of. In both cases, they had a beautiful song that hypnotically attracted men to lead them to death.
Nowadays is it represented as a beautiful be half fish half woman, beautiful torso and face, long hair. On occasions he had in hand a lyre, a mirror or a comb.
Other stories say that they were horrendous, beings with long canine teeth to devour their prey, monstrous faces and whose only charm was his singing.
The sirens have been the source of inspiration for poets, musicians, painters, writers and even sculptures. The sirens are represented as very beautiful women who seduce with his singing and beauty to the marino. These were enshrined in different places (Assyria, Babylon, Ireland, China, Iberian Peninsula) among others and around them were born different legends where it says that they devoured men, or that his tears became precious pearls.
Feared by some cultures and loved by others, the sirens were always inspired. Until Wald Disney took to the screen the Little Mermaid, original tale of Hans Andersen (poet and writer Danish), where a cute Mermaid falls in love with a sailor and resorts to a witch so that it gives you legs but in return must give his voice. The Disney version caused fascination in girls and inspiration for the big toy store that took beautiful dolls sirens.
Some people actually believe that there are sirens and have charge of doing studies without finding a truthful answer.
From my point of view I think that maybe in ancient times existed, but they became extinct. What if I can assure you that these mythological beings will follow in the imagination of many, inspiring artists and all those who believe in them.
Best regards.
