I saw @macchiata's post about childhood and decided to go to
@galenkp's post about the prompts for this weekend and I wanna give it a try.
This is about my childhood.
When I think back on my childhood, one of my favorite memories is spending countless hours playing outside.
The activities and experiences that brought us joy and happiness, particularly from our childhood. Playing outside with friends brings back memories of adventure, freedom, and connection with nature.
Growing up in a small town, my playground was the great outdoors, and I spent most of my free time outside. I would get up early in the morning, grab my bike, and ride around the neighborhood. The sun would be shining, the birds would be chirping, and I would be ready for an exciting day.
I would run around with my friends for hours, playing hide-and-seek, building forts, and climbing trees. We were never bored because there was always something to do. We'd ride our bikes down to the creek to look for crayfish or salamanders, or we'd hike up a nearby mountain to take in the breathtaking view of the town below.
Kickball was one of my favorite activities. We'd set up a makeshift field in a nearby park and invite all the kids in the neighborhood to play. We would play for hours, cheering each other on and having a great time.
Catching fireflies was another favorite pastime. We would go out in the summer evenings with our jars and try to catch as many fireflies as we could. It was an enchanting experience, and I enjoyed watching the glowing bugs illuminate the night sky.
Spending so much time outside had a significant impact on me. It taught me the value of nature, and I grew to appreciate the world around me. It also taught me valuable skills, such as how to be resourceful and creative when looking for things to do. I learned how to collaborate with my friends as a team and how to communicate effectively to ensure that everyone was included.
Looking back on my childhood, I realize how fortunate I was to be able to spend so much time outside. With so much technology and indoor entertainment available nowadays, it's easy to lose sight of the joys of playing outside. But those countless hours spent outside were priceless to me, and I will cherish those memories forever.
Thank for reading. God bless!
