The Glassworker: A Pakistani Anime (🇪🇸 | 🇺🇸)

  Saludos mis Otakus favoritos de @theanimerealm. Hoy quise darle una oportunidad al film El vidriero, o como yo lo conseguí El Artista de Cristal. Decidí verla porque los diseños de sus personajes me recordaron a los del clásico Estudio Ghibli, pero en realidad la película pertenece a un Estudio Pakistaní y es la primera de su género, lo que la hace especial.

  La película me sorprendió al ser pakistaní, ya que nunca antes había visto un animé en este país. Pienso que, para ser su primera vez en el intento, hicieron un trabajo estupendo, no sólo en el diseño de sus personajes sino en la historia que desarrollaron.

  La verdad, me recordó mucho al estilo del Estudio Ghibli. Una trama cargada de drama y un amor imposible, donde se ven implicadas unas cuantas circunstancias que se podrían llamar obras del destino por la cual no ocurrieron a favor de los protagonistas de esta película.

  Este film cuenta la historia de Vincent, un artista de cristal o un soplador de vidrio que a muy temprana edad inició su labor desarrollando un don especial para crear arte a través del vidrio.

  También cuenta al mismo tiempo, la historia de Alliz, una jovencita igualmente talentosa como Vincent, pero a través de la música, especialmente en el violín. Además, es la hija de un coronel importante en el pueblo donde se desarrolla toda la historia.

  Estos niños crecen juntos, compartiendo momentos que van marcando su infancia y su adolescencia, además que viven en un periodo de guerra a causa de una disputa por una tierra realmente valiosa para quien la posea, por sus recursos que se pueden adquirir de ella, la guerra se lleva a cabo con el fin de apoderarse del área y su gran valor.

  Estos niños crecen bajo mucha presión social, además de presión cultural, lo que me resultó curioso de ver puesto que no conozco mucho del estilo de vida de los pakistanís, ni sus creencias. La historia de por si abarca temas muy lindos y entretenidos de ver, con toques de drama y tragedia a medida que estos niños crecen.

  Aunque su desarrollo me resultó algo lento al principio, se puso interesante en cierto punto. Y debo resaltar que su final fue bastante inesperado y no me gustó cómo terminó. Es decir, todo iba bien en la historia hasta que cerraron el film con el final que le dieron.

  Un final que, a mi parecer fue innecesario porque todo estaba muy bien desarrollado. Como era de esperarse, en toda guerra, ocurren pérdidas humanas, por lo que es válido que algunos personajes deban morir en ellas, pero lo extraño fue la vuelta que le dieron al asunto, dejando un final abierto que más que terminar de acuerdo a lo que considere el espectador, hizo que se viera forzado la forma en la que quisieron terminar el film.

  En lugar de agregarle magia al tema, que al principio lo hicieron en cierto punto, ese aspecto fue desplazado por otras cosas a las que le dieron peso y luego el productor lo vuelve a retomar al final como si siempre estuviera allí presente.

  Yo estaba a gusto viendo el film, pero su final me decepcionó, no porque estuviera mal hecho en general sino por la poca lógica que tuvo y el manejo que hicieron para hacer un cambio de tema abrupto y sin sentido, agregándole una magia que no se entendió, o al menos yo no la entendí por desconocer cómo es la cultura y las creencias en dicho país. Por mi decepción en este aspecto final, le asignaré solamente:

Greetings, my favorite Otakus from @theanimerealm. Today I wanted to give the film The Glassworker, or as I got it The Glass Artist, a try. I decided to watch it because the character designs reminded me of those from the classic Studio Ghibli. Still, in reality, the film belongs to a Pakistani studio and is the first of its kind, which makes it special.

The film surprised me as a Pakistani, as I had never seen an anime in this country before. I think that, for their first attempt, they did a great job, not only in the design of their characters but also in the story they developed.

Honestly, it reminded me a lot of Studio Ghibli's style. A plot full of drama and impossible love, involving some circumstances that could be called acts of fate, which did not work in favor of the protagonists of this film.

This film tells the story of Vincent, a glass artist or glassblower who began his work at a very young age, developing a special gift for creating art through glass.

It also tells the story of Alliz, a young woman who is just as talented as Vincent, but through music, especially the violin. She is also the daughter of an important colonel in the town where the story takes place.

These children grow up together, sharing moments that shape their childhood and adolescence. They also live in a period of war caused by a dispute over land that is extremely valuable to whoever owns it, due to the resources that can be obtained from it. The war is being waged to take control of the area and its great value.

These children grow up under a lot of social and cultural pressure, which I found curious to see since I don't know much about the Pakistani lifestyle or their beliefs. The story itself covers very beautiful and entertaining themes, with touches of drama and tragedy as these children grow up.

Although I found the plot development somewhat slow at first, it became interesting at a certain point. And I must point out that the ending was quite unexpected, and I didn't like how it ended. I mean, everything was going well in the story until they closed the film with the ending they gave it.

An ending that, in my opinion, was unnecessary because everything was very well developed. As expected, in any war, there are human losses, so it is valid that some characters must die in them, but what was strange was the twist they gave to the matter, leaving an open ending that, rather than ending according to what the viewer considers, made the way they wanted to end the film seem forced.

Instead of adding magic to the theme, which they did at first to a certain extent, that aspect was displaced by other things that were given more weight, and then the producer brought it back at the end as if it had always been there.

I enjoyed watching the film, but its ending disappointed me, not because it was poorly made overall, but because of its lack of logic and the way they handled the abrupt and meaningless change of subject, adding magic that was not understood, or at least I did not understand it because I am unfamiliar with the culture and beliefs of that country.
