No prizes here. I'm just going to explain how silly the lottery is basically. Many people take part in the lottery yet see a roulette wheel and a casino as a plain gambling and a bad thing.
There is a 1 in 13,983,816 change of winning the UK lottery, with tickets costing £2. The average Jackpot is also roughly £10 million. The odds of winning at the roulette wheel is 1/37 if betting on a random number. If you win you get 36 times your money back. If you bet on black or red its a 18/37 chance to double your money.
If you start with a £2 stake in the casino, assuming the casino is happy to let you win as much money as the lottery jackpot, one win gets you £72 at the odds 1/37. Two wins gets you £2592 at the odds 1/1369. Do that 5 times and you get £121 million at the odds 1 in 69 million. Do it 4 times, then place two bets on black or red, and you would get £13.4 million at the odds 1 in 7.9 million.
Here you can see you get an extra 30% for a casino at only 57% of the risk. The upside to lotteries comes in that you can get lesser prizes for getting a lesser amount of numbers. However I don't believe this balances the odds of winning in your favour over a roulette wheel. With a roulette wheel you can also walk away if you happen to win 3 numbers in a row.
I'd never try to win millions on a roulette wheel myself even though I know the odds are better and I have even done the lottery. I have no idea why this is the case but it's true of almost everyone. Let me know what you think about people doing the lottery over a roulette wheel in the comments.
