English

Since I was young, I have always had a fascination with stories with sad endings. I know there are people who like everything to turn out well for the characters in the end, but I personally prefer raw and realistic endings. I know that many times real life is not so kind and presents us with sad and unfair endings and that's why I prefer them to happy endings that in my opinion seem very ridiculous and naive. However I am sure that my opinion is unpopular and people love good endings that bring a dose of hope and allow us to believe that everyone has the right to be happy. And although I am aware that it is undoubtedly true that everyone deserves to be happy, the preference for this type of ending has always struck me as curious and I wonder why people prefer them.

Throughout history, many authors and historians have tried to explain why we keep searching and searching for that "happy ending" in our narratives. Some believe it is a product of Western popular culture, which has always valued the triumph of the hero over the villain. Others argue that the desire for a happy ending is innate, stemming from our survival instinct. According to this view, we crave happy endings because they are a reflection of our unconscious desire to survive adversity and defeat our enemies.

It is also well known that stories with happy endings are especially popular with children. They love to read about heroes and heroines who fight evil and emerge victorious. These stories stimulate their imagination and teach them valuable lessons about the real world. Although adults like the same things, I think we enjoy stories with happy endings differently. As we get older, we become more cynical and begin to doubt that everything can always turn out well. Stories with happy endings allow us to escape harsh reality for a moment and remember how nice the happy ending can be.

In my opinion, there are three main reasons why people enjoy reading or watching stories with happy endings. First, these stories are usually very funny and exciting. We can't help but feel inspired when we see characters overcome great obstacles to triumph in the end. Second, these stories often teach us valuable lessons about life. We learn about love, friendship, family and many other important things while enjoying an amazing story. And third, these stories allow us to escape for a moment from our own lives and problems. They help us forget our daily worries and allow us to feel good for a while.

Whatever the reason, the truth is that happy endings remain extremely popular, especially among children. Why is that? Perhaps it's because they are a good escape from reality and allow us to dream of a better world. Or maybe it's because they represent the triumph of good over evil, something we will always cherish. Whatever the reason, the important thing is that stories with happy endings continue to be a source of inspiration and hope for many people around the world.
