My friend John spent the last 5 years working for Marine Rescue - he became the messenger for safe passage for many boat people ![](https://usermedia.actifit.io/e35e5221-320a-431e-a11a-52db25cba852.jpg) I have known John for the last 15 years - lots of things discussed and never an argument. ![](https://usermedia.actifit.io/4e238f3b-c565-482b-a418-ba0774b67baf.jpg) I cannot get past the last image of him under that tarpaulin. Fit as a fiddle - full of life - saw him the week before for a drink and a chat ![](https://usermedia.actifit.io/274be0dd-12a1-4a17-b00b-f58c83d55339.jpg) We had a memorial service celebrating John's life. His cousin, his two daughters, his best man and his brother all spoke. They all pointed to the easy going, interesting, caring person John was. Always keen for adventure. We repaired to the Oaks Hotel in Neutral for a few drinks. There were people from all walks - cycling, computer sales, Marine Rescue, kayaking, sailing, art classes, friends and family. Vale John RIP
