I'm a compulsive collector heh heh!
My main collections are those of Lego and comics (mainly Disney, especially Donald Duck, and superheroes). There's not much to say about the bricks of the Danish company, who doesn't know them!
I fell in love with this type of collection, as an adult and not as a kid as one might imagine, this is because I confess that being there assembling these fantastic creations really relaxes me a lot, moreover there are a thousand different models, so it can vary a lot ; below I will put a roundup with some pieces from my collection...
This is the very first piece of my collection, it's two elves and a "werewolf" reindeer (as I call it), my wife's first gift, she gave it to me during the first lockdown in Italy in due to covid, gift for my birthday... needless to say, that's the piece of my collection that I care about the most.
This however is a gift that I gave to my wife, obviously then I had to assemble it myself eh eh! She had been wanting something that could decorate that piece of furniture for a long time and I thought of this sort of Zen garden ... although she is not a fan of Lego, I confess that she liked it very much.
Here my two passions come together, I love superheroes and as a boy I collected all the comics I could find around; the story of the infinity glove (the model of the image for those who are not connoisseurs of Marvel comics) is told in a series of comics from the 90s that I have originals from the time (obviously the younger ones will know it for the film ... but they don't know what they missed by not reading the comic which is much nicer, then you want to put the smell of paper!).
Here too we are talking about Marvel, Venom the nemesis of Spiderman; I'm not here to say that I have the first comic of the series dedicated to this character, also bought in the fantastic 90s!
This model instead belongs to the Harry Potter collection; I'm not a fan of the wizard series, but I'm very fond of this item because it's a gift from my brother and his family for my fortieth birthday. Moreover, it is very beautiful and particular as it is a special category of Lego ... this phoenix can move its wings!
To conclude this "collection" of images, another model that combines the passion for construction with that of Japanese anime... by the way, here we talk about my favorite, Naruto!
This is the 9-Tailed Fox, Kurama; I love this model and I confess that it was the most difficult to build because the tails just didn't want to stay up... in the end, however, I did it (you always have to persevere until the result is achieved)!
I think collecting is a great pastime; collecting is a sort of concrete meditation, focused on the things present; moreover this hobby, in my opinion, has several advantages such as for example it is used to exercise patience, perseverance and organization; in some cases, modeling also allows you to acquire new knowledge.
Furthermore, as I wrote before, it is time that I dedicate to myself and during which I relax, therefore it is also and above all of great benefit from a mental point of view as it reassures me.
It's also nice that most of my collectibles have a memory attached to them, so just looking at them brings back a happy thought.
I want to conclude with the image of a part of my "Donald Duck" collection, as I told you I am passionate about comics, not only superheroes but also Disney ones; if I have to be honest about Disney the ones I love the most are the "ducks tales" (all the stories in which Donald Duck or his family are practically present), this is a collection that I have been carrying on for years, for now I have interrupted it because I can no longer find the comics on the newsstands in my city but I have decided that for Christmas I will give myself a two-year subscription (24 issues); as far as the collection of superhero comics is concerned, I continue to go to the comic shop occasionally to enrich it, although I must admit that I am not as assiduous as I was when I was a boy.
This is one of this year's advent calendars, this is also a gift from my wife; combines our passion for Christmas traditions with my passion for bricks, I really like it a lot and every night before going to sleep I open the window of the day, we keep it for now in the bedroom (I confess that in the living room we also have the classic advent calendar with chocolates and every night before going to bed I eat one... two small caresses to end the day).
