We are finally in Tuscany!
When I wrote this sentence we had just arrived in Montaione, but at this moment we have already returned to Reggio... Lol!
At this point the post will be transformed into a big summary, as per the title so... summary!
Let's start with the day of departure; as I told you in the post published before departure, Sunday was a special day with some unexpected events; we should have participated in the communion of our niece Aurora, unfortunately Reny was ill all night and therefore we could not take part in this happy event.
Fortunately, after taking a few pills and resting a bit, we were able to face the journey in peace in the evening.
We managed to leave on time, but not having had dinner, we decided to stop for a bite to eat at "Medmea"; I have already told you about this place in a previous article, it is a restaurant where truck drivers stop to eat and it has also won the award from a program called "Truck drivers in the restaurant".
There's no point in me specifying here that the portions for truck drivers are very generous!
Reny took a simple plate of pasta with tomato and made the mistake of not asking for a half portion...
I instead opted for a grilled fish, I forgot to take a photo as soon as they brought me the dish, this is what was left...
I concluded with a classic and delicious Tiramisu; Reny, on the other hand, gave up dessert to keep herself light-hearted since, as mentioned, she wasn't well until the afternoon; She too actually ate very little pasta, but tomorrow she will make up for it with "the fat that died on the grill" Tuscany!
Our frugal dinner was consumed in Rosarno and from there we then left for Rome.
All in all, the trip went well and Samuele was very good; he slept a little and played a little, but you can already clearly see that he is a travel lover!
Obviously, as always when we travel, the climate was not our friend and we encountered a nice storm on the road in Sala Consilina and then in Lazio a lot of fog that accompanied us all the way to Rome; no problem anyway, when I drive with the whole crew in the car I go slowly, we like the rain and, even if we don't like the fog, we have no reason to complain.
After the cardiological check-up and after having also had a vaccine we set off again towards Montaione!

This time I remembered to take pictures first, but it was hard.

After lunch we completed our transfer reaching what will be the base of these holidays, our beloved Montaione!

After some well-deserved rest we spent the whole day on Tuesday in Montaione.
In the evening we had dinner together with some of our closest friends, it was a fantastic evening!
On Wednesday however, after a nice plate of pappardelle with wild boar ragout...

We headed to San Gimignano and did a nice sightseeing tour, first in the cathedral...
And then in the famous Piazza del Pozzo...
You should know that this town is known for its towers, it is said there were 72 of them!!!
And on this occasion we picked up our new car 😅🤔 ...
Thursday, after a delicious breakfast we went to Florence.
We naturally took a tour of the cathedral square and we also went to Ponte Vecchio...
Yesterday we left to return home, the journey was long but we spent some wonderful days in a place that for me is and will always remain home and above all in the company of people very dear to us, our Tuscan family is large and they want us All the best, we are really lucky!

Finalmente siamo in Toscana!
Quando ho scritto questa frase eravamo appena arrivati a Montaione, in questo momento invece siamo già rientrati a Reggio... Lol!
A questo punto il post verrà trasformato in un grande riassunto, come da titolo quindi... riassuntazzo!
Partiamo con il giorno della partenza; come Ti avevo detto nel post pubblicato prima della partenza, domenica è stata una giornata particolare e con qualche imprevisto; avremmo dovuto partecipare alla comunione di nostra Nipote Aurora, purtroppo Reny è stata male tutta la notte e quindi non abbiamo potuto prendere parte a questo lieto evento.
Fortunatamente, dopo aver preso qualche pillola e dopo un po'di riposo, la sera abbiamo potuto affrontare il viaggio in tranquillità.
Siamo riusciti a partire in orario, non avendo però cenato, abbiamo deciso di fermarci a mangiare un boccone da "Medmea"; Ti ho già parlato di questo locale in un precedente articolo, è una trattoria in cui si fermano a mangiare i camionisti e ha anche vinto il premio di una trasmissione che si chiama proprio "Camionisti in trattoria".
Inutile che stia qui a specificare che le porzioni per camionisti sono mooolto abbondanti!
Reny ha preso un semplice piatto di pasta col pomodoro e ha fatto l'errore di non chiedere la mezza porzione...
Io invece ho optato per una grigliata di pesce, ho dimenticato di fare la foto appena mi hanno portato il piatto, questo è ciò che è rimasto...
Ho concluso con un classico e buonissimo Tiramisù; Reny invece ha rinunciato al dolce per mantenersi leggera visto che fino al pomeriggio, come detto, non è stata bene; anche di pasta ne ha mangiata in realtà poca, ma già domani si rifarà con "la ciccia morta sulla brace" Toscana!
La nostra cena frugale si è consumata a Rosarno e da lì poi siamo ripartiti con destinazione Roma.
Il viaggio, tutto sommato, è andato bene e Samuele è stato bravissimo; un po' ha dormito e un po' ha giocato, però si vede già chiaramente che è un amante dei viaggi!
Ovviamente, come sempre quando viaggiamo, il clima non ci è stato amico e abbiamo incontrato per strada un bel temporale a Sala Consilina e poi nel Lazio tanta nebbia che ci ha accompagnato fino a Roma; nessun problema comunque, io quando guido con tutta la Ciurma in auto vado piano, la pioggia ci piace e, anche se la nebbia non la amiamo, non abbiamo motivo di lamentarci.
Dopo il controllo cardiologico e dopo aver fatto anche un vaccino siamo ripartiti con destinazione Montaione!
Ci siamo fermati a pranzare in questo locale...
Questa volta prima sbafare mi sono ricordato di fotografare, ma è stata dura.
Qui puoi vedere le polpette che ho preso come antipasto...
Dopo il pranzo abbiamo ultimato il nostro trasferimento raggiungendo quella che sarà la base di queste vacanze, la nostra amata Montaione!
Quello che vedi nella foto di copertina è proprio una dei magnifici paesaggi di questo magico paese.
Dopo un po' di meritato riposo abbiamo trascorso l'intera giornata di martedì a Montaione.
La sera abbiamo cenato insieme ad alcuni dei nostri più caro amici, è stata una serata fantastica!
Mercoledì invece, dopo un bel piatto di pappardelle al ragù di cinghiale...
Gustate con questa meravigliosa vista...
Ci siamo diretti a San Gimignano e abbiamo fatto un bel giro turistico, prima in cattedrale...
E poi nella famosa piazza del pozzo...
Devi sapere che questo paese è noto per le sue torri, si dice ce ne fossero ben 72!!!
E con l'occasione abbiamo ritirato la nostra auto nuova 😅🤔 ...
Giovedì, dopo una buonissimo colazione ci siamo recati a Firenze.
Abbiamo naturalmente fatto un giro nella piazza del duomo e siamo stati anche a Ponte Vecchio...
Ieri siamo ripartiti per tornare a casa, il viaggio è stato lungo ma abbiamo trascorso dei giorni bellissimi in un posto che per me è e resterà sempre casa e soprattutto in compagnia di persone a noi molto care, la nostra Famiglia Toscana è numerosa e ci vogliono tutti un gran bene, siamo davvero fortunati!
