And here I am for the awesome post of the weekend!
I always look forward to it, I really like taking advantage of the ideas that the good @Galenkp gives us.
If I could only invite three people to our Christmas dinner, excluding my family mmmm... let's see (in the meantime, I wanted to point out to you, in the cover photo, how Christmas trees are not lacking in our house, and there are three like friends who you can invite... coincidences?... I wouldn't say!).

The answer is not simple but, I want to get out of the box, surely two would be my best friends, who were also our wedding witnesses, who are also husband and wife: Francesco and Simona; for the third name I want to use the same tradition that is used in weddings, something old and something new, so this crazy and strange Christmas, which will be different than we had planned, I would like to have dinner together with dear @galenkp; now obviously we're going to find out the reasons why these choices.

Francesco and Simona are like two brothers to me, we've known each other practically all our lives and we've shared a thousand adventures; we owe our friendship to the scout experience made together, just as I owe my marriage to this experience (well, if you ask me, yes! I recommend the scout experience for your children, it can change their lives eh eh!), when you find yourself sharing the tent, the meals and above all the road with people, the bond that is created can truly become indissoluble.
Nowadays, unfortunately, we are busy with work and a thousand commitments and the time to be together has become very little, with Fra and Simo we were inseparable when we were kids and we spent whole days together with all the other friends in the courtyard in front of our beautiful office scouts (what memories!); I therefore believe that it could be a great opportunity to sit together in front of a laid table and remember the times gone by, but also to talk about the present and why not think a little about the future. You'll ask me: "Why don't you organize it then?", well, we'll certainly organize a lunch in the next few days since we haven't seen each other for a long time, for Christmas dinner it's complicated since of course family members take precedence and you know... grandparents want to be with their grandchildren heh heh! Yes, because Francesco and Simona have two splendid children, Samuele and Manuel who are two in-laws for me and Reny.
Well these are the first two people I'd like to invite to Christmas dinner, and the motivation summarized down to the essentials is: because I love them (in the photo you see below Simona and Francesco are at both ends).

As a third person, I thought of someone who I actually know only virtually and not even very much yet, I'm referring to @galenkp ; don't think this is flattery, I tell him because in these days we have had the opportunity to confront each other, talk and exchange ideas and I realize that I would really like to meet him, obviously what better occasion than Christmas dinner? Moreover, here we are talking about "invitation to my house", so I could make him try a full-blown "Calabrese Christmas"!
Galen, for me, is one of the models to follow here on Hive and I think this was clear; However, I confess that reading his posts and the stories of his life I realize that we have many points in common and that there are many facets of his personality that I would like to enhance in mine, furthermore he is a really interesting person, therefore, going beyond the virtual world, I'm sure it would be really nice to be able to spend time together, in the case of our post for Christmas dinner (but in reality it would be fine even in front of a beer or a good glass of wine or a fantastic breakfast of those but what do they do in its parts, here they are different and I love bacon and eggs in the morning!).
So this is the third person I'd like to have dinner with at Christmas, if I had to summarize the motivation I'd simply say because in my opinion they're a nice person and you always have to take advantage of the opportunity to meet new and interesting people.

Here I am at the end, and practically we have reached the time of the fateful Christmas dinner; obviously I know that the theme of the post is the 3 people I would like to invite to a Christmas lunch or dinner and, even if my family members are not to be included, the Christmas dinner with these 3 people I would consider complete only with the presence of my wife; Reny is definitely the only person I can't do without at Christmas as in my life, therefore since we have reached the closing moment and the celebrations I would like to dedicate all the successes achieved up to now and future ones to her because without her there would be no first courses and there would be no possibility of reaching the second courses!
