Hello dear friends of hive!
This is to share with you a major life update which I will sometimes make a post about in the near future.
But before I let you in on the gist, do let me know how you are doing at your current job in the comment session. If you ever feel the need to resign, where would you go from there?
So yeah, I made some posts sometimes back about the jobs I have been and my experiences but what I didn't emphasize is the fact that I have been without a 'job' for nearly 2years now. What have you been up to all that while? I had a youngster and I have been in a general sense engaging to be enough for her. Motherhood is a whole lot. Noticed how job Is in inverted commas? It was during that period I got introduced to hive and have ever since been blogging. Just this morning as I came online to make this post, I stumbled upon @young-boss-karin 's post on my feed and I just marveled how the universe set things on one's path. How it is ever ready to work with your thoughts, words and actions. Talk about the law of attraction and abundance!
Truly everything that man has ever wanted has been set as mere probabilities and is only waiting to be met by his thoughts, words and actions.
All of my research on finding a new career path for almost two years now has brought me to this new path - Tech. Yeah, yours truly is taking a bold step into the tech world. Three days ago, I had a consultation session with an expert/ family friend to help me decipher if its what I truly wanted and guide me on the way to go. Plus she was more than happy to link me with her network where I would get mentorship and more support.
I never realised how vast the tech world was till this time. I watched a couple of videos and read articles to help me understand better what I am venturing into and for the path I want to take, I'll need to begin my journey as a front end developer. Now this means learning computer programming languages like HTML, CSS and Javascript for the first few months of my course. According to experts online, this should take about three months to master after which I will get myself familiar with React. React is projected to take about two months. I will then proceed to learn Git in a week. There are other tools like the CSS preprocessor and the Type script which will make me an outstanding software engineer. These two will each take two weeks to learn. So, in total to be a good front end developer I'll need to invest about 6months of dedicated study. The time could be less if I do exceedingly well but I hope to take nothing more than this six months to learn the trade to be able to take my first gig.
The above study paths are all from my research. While I have not yet signed up for an online course or registered at a Tech institution, I will be learning on youtube and for now to catch the scope of the trade. As much as I want to think I can self train without buying a course for the six months period, I know I will do as time goes on because there is nothing like having a mentor even if it comes with a price.
Right now, I have all the motivation to go for it. More than ever, I want to be useful to myself, my family and the world at large. It's another phase of life for me and I'm excited about it. It's going to take a lot as I will need to balance motherhood and studies but I know I'll see it through because I can.
Thank you for reading and see you in my next post!
