Growing up as a child, I heard a lot of superstitious stuff, like when you sneeze continuously, someone somewhere is talking about you, or if you wear clothes inside out without knowing, people will dash you money.
There were a lot of them; some were funny, while some sounded scary. And I have seen some play out, like the hitting of your left toe to mean something bad might happen to you or the itching of the right palm, which means you will get money.
But one scary one that scared me for a long time was about dogs: that if a dog is barking continuously without a reason, mostly at night, that means something bad is happening or might happen. So there was this time I was with my aunt in her shop late at night, maybe around past 9 or 10pm. There was this dog that stood in front of the shop and was barking continuously. People around there tried to stop the dog from barking, but it refused. If I am not mistaken, I think it barked for about 15 minutes before it left. Then my aunt said to me that it's a bad omen and that she sensed something bad had happened. I didn't understand what she meant.
The following day my aunt got a message that her friend that traveled the previous day had an accident and died immediately. When she asked what time the accident happened, she found out it was almost the same time the dog was barking.
Almost the same happened too when I was at my grandma's place; then the dog in the compound kept barking through the night. The following day we were told that someone died. I have heard of many such things happening; while it's kind of difficult to explain it, it does happen.
