Your post is very timely for me. I have a long drive coming up. Most folks would follow the two super highways that will traverse the distance in the shortest time. I did that last year, and I hated every hour of the ten hour drive, even though I made two overnight stops.
This year, I'm crafting a route that will need more than twelve hours of driving for the same distance, but hopefully will be on smaller roads, if not country roads. I love to drive in the country. I'll remember your post and do a great deal of looking around, enjoying the going there while looking forward to being there.
RE: Learning is a continuous process; it's not a destination but a journey. The more you travel on the path of knowledge, the more breathtaking the views become.
