I love that photograph!

we have built bubbles to protect ourselves.

We have been systematically conditioned to fear other humans. A woman who thinks child-rearing is a woman's role in society threatens the social order. The dude next door, who loves his firearms, could be a mass murderer. Covid brought a slew more fears: a handshake might just transmit a deadly disease, a person who sneezes in public could be a granny killer.

Meanwhile, the real threats to our well-beings are brought to us by methods presented as protective, vaccination chief among these. When I hear the word "protect" used in the mouths of government agents or agencies, I shudder.
