I do get upvotes after 7 days, but I haven't paid attention to whether or not those upvotes pay out to me. Idk if the curator's vote earns less as the week goes on like it does on Hive. But just as on Hive, there are far fewer votes after the first 24 hours, so I believe so. No idea if the author earns anything.
This problem you are having only happens at the beginning. Someone gave me a very small amount of blurt when it happened to me. Don't power up everything, or you won't have enough blurt even to claim any rewards, so to be able to pay the small price for posting or commenting. Tip: do not ever edit your posts or comments! You will be charged again, and I think it's an even larger charge.
I primarily use Hive because there is more action here, but if you want to post the type of content that is often downvoted on Hive (a condition that has gotten better), blurt is a good place to put it. And to find such content.
I read your post there. It was intriguing. I followed you. I think you might want to reconsider. You also might want to beware that tptb on hive look down on those of us who use blurt, and read what we post there. Depends on how much you value your earnings here. I have taken quite a hit.
