I know I have said this before but it bears saying again: the richness of Venezuelan culture is surprising to me! The many forms of The Tamunague are fascinating, and are those sticks supposed to represent swords? It seems to be a dance of many feelings, like the dances of love. LOVE those ribbon costumes and the masks for The Zaragozas. I'm sure there were many smiles under those expressionless masks though. The children are so cute.
When I was a child in New York State USA, we danced country dances, and I loved those. None of my children learned any dances in school, which I think is a terrible loss.
Thank you for putting this post together. I love your posts on dance.
