We've read and seen excerpts of what it means to survive in the old stone age, especially for people from my part of the world, Africa. I can't imagine I have to go through what our fore parents went through to survive, very horrible experiences I wouldn't want to emphasize much about. It's undeniably true that modern day technology has created vast amounts of simplicity in problem solving but on the other hand infiltrated our noble cultural values and norms.
Now if I have the privilege to turn back the hands of time, would I? Yes, but with some bias. I don't know how others view this and I don't know how possible it is. I love how technology made life easy for us but I really wished our cultural values and norms stays with us not like how it's gradually fading away from the hands of the GenZ generation. So many unethical behaviours from people that don't even care. Everyone is completely concerned about how their desires and care less how it affects people around them.
Back in the days building relationships and family was way easier than what we have in this present generation. Men and women are consistently against each other, fighting for the nuisance we constituted with our own hands. People running away from responsibilities and family, high rates of divorce and suicides. It's unfortunate that the western knowledge, while benefiting man, it's creating problems on the other end for man.
Are there possible ways to end this? I don't see that happening in the nearest future because the more advanced we become, the more we see these misconducts among youths and teenagers. I really miss when living harmoniously together with people wasn't a heck of a problem as it is now. Everyone wants to claim rights over whatever they desire regardless of the real time effects to our dear miner m mother earth.
If everyone should have choices over their own bodies and choose not to procreate completely, won't humans go extinct at some point in time? If relationships was about individual pleasures and desires what then becomes of family? If everyone runs away from their responsibilities how's the world going to thrive? When there are no men to protect and provide, no women to procreate and support, how possible can the world thrive like that?
This among many reasons makes the traditional style of living for me the best. All I mentioned wasn't a problem back in the days but now it's heavily is.
We're struggling today as a result of civilization that was supposed to bless us and not serve like a course to humanity. If I have a super power today, I'll bring back those traditional values we're drifting away from and simultaneously making way for more technological advancements. I will make it in such a way that one doesn't affect the existence of the other.
