Everyone who’s anyone knows I have a sparkly new microphone — still getting used to it. Although it's got a great sound, it picks up on plosives frequently. Left unchallenged, they can ruin a vocal track... we’ll get to this in a bit.

The letters “T, B, P” and possibly others, when spoken into a cardioid microphone, can hit the mic’s capsule with a burst of air, leaving a bass‑y thud sound in its wake. I’m sure you’ve heard it before on less‑than‑professional audio — or live radio.

So anyways, I’m taking a multi-approach in reigning in plosives. My two pop-shields don't seem to help at all, so I try to record while turned a bit so I'm not hitting the mic directly with plosives. Also, there's a very handy filter in Audition software (FFT) that is extremely useful in mitigating microphone pops.
