We don't have self checkout yet in the Philippines; maybe because people will constantly try to cheat it. I did encounter a weird thing in my grocery though. There was a moving robot on wheels going around the aisles. It was showing some advertisements, and it was carrying some products in its trays. It can identify customers, and asks if it can help them. One can ask where a specific product is, and the robot will guide the customer there. It was pretty interesting and surreal at the same time.
