This is an interesting development. My personal opinion is that the team should pay for the development of the validator nodes until it is released. Only after that should the DAO step in to pay for the maintenance and other fees/improvements. I compare it to condos and the owner's association. The construction company only step back and the owner association step in when everything is fully built and functioning. So things progressing like this really shows how bad the company's finances are right now.
