who would have thought
i could taste the sweat of your disdain
pouring over a vase like broken memories
flinching, gasping, clenching,
words no longer, muttered through exhausted lungs
deeper i sink
undercurrents pass beneath my feet
as your demons manifest themselves to me
shades of tinged-firework temper
mixed with a callous black stare
oh how you used to kill me inside
remembering, looking,
at harmonic fractals of my final breaths
air bubbles float to surfaces end
as i reach rock bottom
