Journey into Strandzha mountain - Part 2 - Periwinkle Festival - MARC #458
We woke up earlier on Sunday because our host was a guide for a large group of tourists and invited us to make a trek near the village of Kondolovo on the eco-trail where you can see many blooming Strandzha periwinkles.
On these days of the year, there are many tourists to gaze at this unique plant which is protected species, and picking tearing is prohibited
After breakfast and coffee, we took the car and drive from village White water to Kondolovo. There we met very nice people from Varna and took the eco-trail to gaze at the beautiful nature.
After 3 hours of walking in the woods we back to Kondolovo where we stop at a place that movie "Mr. for one day" was shoot. All was in ruins. Unfortunately, like the other villages in Strandzha mountain, this one is depopulated too.
After that, we took the road to a chapel that was built over the cave, but this will tell you in the next post.
Basically, Sunday was full of interesting places and walking.
