After seeing this edition鈥檚 Contest, it made me remember the first time I joined hive where I had to introduce myself first to the community before any other things. I was amazed telling people things about myself but this edition is more deeper than you can imagine, getting to tell people what actually makes you stand out from others and lots more.
My name is Otuya Nancy and my native name is Buchi which is the short Pronunciation of Onyebuchi which means who is God. Of course we can鈥檛 answer that question but it鈥檚 a nice and a rare name which I also love. I was born in Delta state but I was brought up in Lagos state. I鈥檓 the fifth child out of seven meaning I have two younger ones which I cherish a lot and they鈥檙e looking up to me, I grew up with a wonderful family. I stayed in Lagos for so many years but I still don鈥檛 know how to speak Yoruba, I only understand the basics but still can鈥檛 speak, it can be shameful telling people that I grew up in a land for so many years but can鈥檛 speak the language 馃ぃ馃ぃ, at least I can speak my language which is Igbo and also English 馃槀. Basically, those are the only languages I know how to speak well, I don鈥檛 know if I should say that I grew up as an introvert or an extrovert but as we go on, you will get to answer the question yourself 馃槀馃槀
My primary school and secondary school was in Lagos, I change secondary school twice because we had to change environment and that didn鈥檛 even affect me because my parents made sure they put me in one of the best schools and that was how I met a friend who till date is still very close to me and we help each other in any possible way we can.
I got my National Diploma in Fidei Polytechnic Gboko, Benue. It was so good traveling to different states and getting to know their culture, i made lots of friends from the Tiv land. I will say that education over there is quite cheap because most of them there are farmers so those who are opportune to go to school had to pay less for education, I will boldly say that I enjoyed myself in Benue state just that it鈥檚 a very long distance coming from Lagos 馃槀
I just rounded up my B.Sc in Microbiology in Ambrose Alli University which is in Edo state. I still plan on getting my masters degree if I have the opportunity and I hope for better opportunities.
I鈥檓 proudly a Christian and I attended Catholic Church. I don鈥檛 discriminate any church, I tend to adapt to any church whenever I find myself as long it鈥檚 nothing other than Christianity.
I have lots of hobbies but I will just make it short. I love cooking, this is what I so much love doing on a daily basis, I鈥檓 sure you will say that I鈥檓 supposed to like it because I鈥檓 a lady, but far from that, the joy I get from cooking can鈥檛 be compared to anything.
I would have said that I love to read but let me not fool myself here馃ぃ馃ぃ I just like anything that is fun to me such as partying, traveling, playing games and of course reading. Do you actually think I don鈥檛 like to read?馃ぃ馃ぃ, I just wanted to confuse some people and I鈥檓 sure I did馃ぃ馃ぃ
In as much as I love to party and lots more, I still love to get somethings doing. I don鈥檛 like staying at home all day doing nothing, I love to help people and also do the best I can to earn a living. I make sure I contribute positively to others, I can be emotional on the inside but though on the outside which is what keeps me going.
So many things makes me stand out from others;
Commitment: I鈥檓 so committed to what I do, I don鈥檛 give up at any slightest opportunity I have or at any set backs, I tend to find solutions to any problem and once I put my mind into something, I must achieve it, it will just take me time to do so.
Caring: should I say my second name is to show love and care to people irrespective of who you鈥檙e. I make sure I put a smile on someone鈥檚 face before leaving them which is something I always love to do.
Fun to be with: I can鈥檛 forget to add this, when you meet Nancy you will Testify to what I鈥檓 saying. Once you鈥檙e with me, you will always laugh because I love to make people laugh a lot. No dull moment with this amazing person call Nancy baby 馃グ馃槏
