One of the many questions I do come across daily has to do with Crypto staking and it's various benefits, Crypto in general has undergone various updates and implementations and one of such has to do with staking of various assets via decentralized wallet or centralized exchange with the end goal most times having to do with generating passive incomes.

PlatON is not different and while the end goal might be to generate passive income it also provide a means for users to safeguard, store, their $LAT assets and also participate in onchain votes when there is need.

By safeguard, with the 7 days countdown to unstake asset this might provide a window incase of private key exploitation for users to regain back their assets as attackers would have to wait instead of gaining access immediately. Thus providing a second layer of security.

Store, recently I have been faced with the need to hold LAT for a long period of time especially with the coming bull run and also regarding the various implementations and update that has gone through via PlatON, personally I see it's native token LAT doing incredibly well in time to come and with the staking option this provide a means to lock my asset without having the need to easily sell out.

Staking or rather delegating is easy and doesn't require any complex reading to achieve. Holders of LAT token simply need to download ATON wallet on their preferred device.

Import the key holding your LAT asset and if you don't have any yet, you can easily buy from one of the many supported exchanges.

Click on the delegate option and select your desired validator, input the amount you would like to stake and click enter. That's all it's that easy and unstaking is easy as well which will be discussed on next writeup.
