Vietnam Flashback • Chinooks

On the beach last weekend, I saw two Chinook military helicopters flying low in formation along the shoreline. I quickly pulled out my iPhone and began furiously clicking my way through screens to get to the camera app. I only managed to click one image before the rear helicopter disappeared over the tree line. It was pure luck that I captured the sun too as I whirled around following the Chinooks fly out of view... but it definitely adds to the retro flashback feel of the image.

Chinooks entered into military service in 1962 and with their tandem rotors were the fastest helicopters in the military. They were used for troop movements in Vietnam and are still used to this day.
