"But when the archangel Michael was fighting with the devil, challenging the body of Moses, he did not dare to pronounce a curse judgment against him, but said: The Lord rebuke you."
For me, this is one of the most peculiar verses of the Holy Scriptures. We are not going to go into detail in what is said here, but when we come to the book of Revelation, we will analyze this a little more thoroughly as to the creation of Satan, the cosmos of Satan, the conflict with Satan, and the conclusion of his career. Satan was a fallen creature, an avowed enemy of God, and yet the archangel Michael, who was disputing the body of Moses, did not express to him any sentence that would impugn the dignity of Satan. That is, he respected his position. Satan was a creature of God and, apparently, the highest creature that God created, and then it became evident that there was evil or malice in him.

The sin in which he fell consisted in putting his will against the will of God. He actually believed that he could dethrone God and take away control of a part of His universe from Him. As far as this world is concerned, God has allowed him to continue acting in his rebellion, and he has a high purpose in it. But this creature still believes that he will be able to control a part of this universe created by God and to reign over it, because he truly wants to own this land. And he continues saying this verse 9, speaking of the archangel Michael; "He did not dare to make a curse judgment against him, but said: The Lord rebuke you." That is, Miguel did not curse Satan or express other disqualifications. Many people would have been willing to do it but Miguel did not. Being an archangel, all he did was to tell him "The Lord rebuke you". Probably, Satan did not want Moses to be buried there, because Moses was going to be raised to enter the promised land.
Let us remember that, in the Gospel account he would appear on the Mount of Transfiguration, along with Elijah and the Lord. For that reason there was a fight, but the archangel did not pronounce a judgment of condemnation, although he could have done it. As we said earlier, he acted in that way respecting the position of Satan, created as a higher creature. And you and I, a listening friend, need to learn this lesson, regarding our God. There are many believers who have not learned to treat God with the reverence He deserves. You and I are His creatures, the creatures of God. He is the Creator. What right do you have, and what right do I have to question anything that He does? Now, I do not want you to misunderstand me, listening friend. If you think that I, with a "supposedly pious" attitude, accept everything that happens in my life, then, you are wrong. There are times when I want to speak, I want to respond to express my disgust, especially when He allows an unpleasant experience to happen in my life and I want to ask him: Why, why did this or that happen to me? Maybe you also do the same, reacting in the same way. But we must recognize that God is the Creator. And He is also our Redeemer. He is also the one who loves us. Our God is a holy God, very high, and is a just and righteous God and never makes a mistake. He never does anything bad. Everything He does is right; therefore, you and I can trust Him. Now, do we do this? Do we respect His authority? Do we respect His person?
And, what about the Lord Jesus Christ? He will ask us in a future day, when we come to His presence: Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say? As we observe humanity today in general, we see that most of the people could say what the prophet Isaiah said: "Everyone went their separate ways." The reality is that everyone tends to do things according to what is right and proper in their own eyes. And this is like a panoramic figure of the world in which we live. What will we say about you, listening friend? What shall we say about me? What a great lesson we can learn in this passage that has Archangel Michael as protagonist!
