And the weekend arrived, and of course as a travel and history addict I went to visit the Castle of Mourao, I am one step less from knowing all the castle of Portugal, this is my fifth! Although it seems that they are all the same, you would be amazed because each castle is different and tells a story! so make yourself comfortable and enjoy my little post!🤩🤩
Y llego el fin de semana, y claro como un adicto a los viajes e historia fui a visitiar el Castillo de Mourao, estoy a un paso menos de conocer todos los castillo de Portugal, este es mi quinto! aunque da la impresion que todos son iguales, quedarias asombrado porque cada castillo es diferente y cuenta una historia! asi que ponte comodo y disfruta de mi pequeño post!😮😛

I had to travel to Evora to find my piece of history, it was a 150 km trip about an hour and a half! I can't complain it was quick, I relaxed a lot and had a great time with my wife! Well, before explaining the history of the castle a little, I would like to add that Alentejo, especially Evora, is an area of plains with a lot of agriculture! This castle is located on a hill and is one of the highest in the region!😏😏
Tuve que viajar a Evora para encontrarme con mi pedazo de historia, fue un viaje de 150 kilometros alrededor de una hora y media! no puedo quejarme fue rapido, me relaje bastante y la pase muy bien con mi esposa! bueno antes de explicar un poco la historia del castillo quisiera agregar que alentejo especialmente Evora es una zona de planicies con mucha agricultura! este castillo esta posicionado en una colina y es uno de los mas alto de la region! 🤯😬
The first thing that made me curious about this castle is its mystery! Lo primero que me causo curiosidad de este castillo es su misterio! si buscas en internet o referencias historicas en el pueblo donde fue construido sientes que hay muchos espacios en blancos para llenar.... Es sin duda uno de los castillo mas misteriosos y curiosos! pero puedo decirte que esta ubicado en el rio Guadiana, es casi frontera con España! siempre en el territorio Portugues se construyeron Castillo para proteger las futuras invasiones de España!💥💥💥
I can say that in Portugal there was an era called reconquest, it was basically war in the Iberian peninsula! it was a series of different fights between Christians and Muslims! and we can see in Evora several names of cities and structures with Arab origin!💥💥
Puedo decir que en Portugal se vivio una era llamada reconquista basicamente fue guerra en la peninsula iberica! fueron una serie de diferentes combates entre los cristianos y los musulmanes! y podemos ver en Evora varios nombres de ciudades y estructuras con origen arabico!👨🏫👨🎓
In the seventeenth century, once the territory was conquered by the Portuguese, the castle passed into the hands of Goncalo Egas who later made the improvements to the castle to defend the region from future invasions! Portugal also had Spanish reigns such is the case in 1580 in 1957 the place was declared a historical site of public interest and is currently open for tourist visits!🤩🤩
En el siglo XVII una vez conquistado el territorio por los Portugueses, el castillo paso a manos de Goncalo Egas quien posteriormente realizaria las mejoras del castillo para defender la region de futuras invasiones! Portugal tuvo tambien reinados españoles tal es el caso en 1580 en 1957 el luegar fue declarado como sitio historico de interes publico y actualmente se encuentra abierto para visitas turisticas!🤔🤔
Although I can not answer the question who ordered to build the castle, because it was built it will be a secret that will last for generations! the structure of the castle is made up of granite, marble and esquisite stone! It is surrounded by a wall and inside there is a church that is currently used by the inhabitants!🤩🤩
Aunque no puedo responder la pregunta quien mando a construir el castillo, porque fue construido sera un secreto que perdurara por generaciones! la estructura del castillo esta formada por granito, marmol y piedra de esquisita! se encuentra rodeado por una muralla y dentro se ubica una iglesia que actualmente es usada por los pobladores!😅😅
It is very fun and you feel like immediately walking on top of the walls takes you back in time and gives the feeling that you were a guard on duty! you have a spectacular view of the Alentejo plains! It is a unique experience for a weekend!😎😎
