In these two posts we are going to learn many interesting things about the Romans!🧠🤓👨‍🎓

What motivated me to investigate many things about this culture was my visit to the Roman theater in Lisbon, it is a museum in which remains of the Roman Civilization were discovered, practically Lisbon and many places in Portugal in its time were ceded to Roman power, Within the country we can find many archaeological sites that teach us how people lived in ancient Rome, I had the privilege of visiting a Roman theater, places where commercial exchanges were carried out such as routes and markets, I managed to visit the remains of a Thermal water bath and a space to salt fish this activity was very important in the commerce and economy of Rome, the Romans were great marketers who easily competed with Chinese culture, they exported and imported many materials, of animal or vegetable origin until the famous slaves! This is my 6th visit to a Roman museum to learn more about the behavior of society since long before the Christian era 😲😮🧠

To say that the Romans were a simple civilization that was born from one day to the next is a totally wrong thought, the Romans were known for their great technological and cultural advancement but they did something that few other civilizations dared and that is that ancient Rome is a culture fusion between many civilizations! Greek culture influenced the Roman cultural growth combined with other countries like Egypt, and the famous Mesopotania! There was a key factor for Rome to become a power and it was having learned Latin since the Roman was a child, he was taught this language and this in the long term would give an advantage over other civilizations because a Roman was respected for being a cultured person ! Latin revolutionized the empire to such an extent that each territory that was conquered was obligatory to use the Latin language among the settlers.🕵️‍♀️😲🧠👨‍💻

I could then define the Romans as an ancient Civilization that began as a starting point in Rome and that was expanding through many territories, historians place the birth of this civilization before Christ exactly in the 8th century, the Romans were known and remembered for be great conquerors managing to expand in many European, African and Asian countries! When a territory was conquered by Rome it went through a process of culturalization that historians call "Romanization", basically the new territory had to submit to the Roman culture and learn its customs, Rome not only taught Latin in the regions that passed through it. Romanization process also taught the laws and of course its currency!😱😱

I had already mentioned how the Romans conquered much of Europe and Africa, but scientifically we can say that ancient Rome developed on the great Italian peninsula, there are historians who say that the first recorded historical data that mention Rome for the first time is in the year 753 before Christ, and their last record places them in the year 475 after Christ, of course with numbers it is something that does not capture the true reality but if I tell you that the Romans had a duration of 5 centuries, what would you say? We are referring to more than 500 years, they were not the civilization that lasted the longest because Acadia lasted from 3000 BC to 2220 BC, the solution is which civilization brought the greatest contributions? This is how the power of a civilization is measured, by its military and cultural power as well as its economic power! Do you know who was the richest man in the history of mankind? a Roman .. That's right, Marcus Crassus🕵️‍♂️💂‍♂️

When the Roman civilization came to an end we also lost a piece of history and with it the ancient world dies and at this point the Middle Ages arises, when we read or watch a movie with a Roman setting we always hear that Rome was founded on the seven hills, but what does this mean? Actually, her own name indicates it were 7 hills whose names were (Aventine, Capitoline, Celius, Esquiline, Palatine Hill, Quirinal and Viminal). If we see an old map where Rome was located, we could appreciate how the city limit borders the seven hills that I mentioned earlier, Rome was fantastic and in its culture there were many beliefs of gods venerated only for their culture, the Romans were so believing in their gods that Rome is thought to have been founded by Remus and Romulus.😮😮

Rome is full of great cultural and political events, this civilization acquired three types of political experiences throughout its history, starting with the monarchy, then giving rise to the republic and finally the empire! exactly Rome began in the Lazio area, exactly in the aforementioned Italian peninsula, but it would take a long twelve centuries to reach the Mediterranean Sea, Europe and Asia. But Rome also conquered some British islands. Historians believe that the maximum expansion of Rome must have been around the 117th century.🚤🌍

It should be noted that the Roman Empire was known throughout history as "the golden centuries" this because Rome was a world power throughout the Mediterranean, Asia, Africa and Europe! In general, the policy of Rome was "autocratic" this means that many of the powers and the last decision was made by only one person who had as title (emperor) he did not submit to any type of authority, on the contrary he was always who made the final decision, the monarchy had a duration of (753-509 BC), and the republic a duration of: (509-27 BC).🤔😮

There were many characteristics that made the Roman empire so different from other empires in the world, firstly we must emphasize that a figure was the one who had total control and power of the nation which was titled (emperor), Rome was envy at the military level Of many other civilizations, the Roman Empire took the war to another level inventing and innovating different combat tactics, nor the powerful Spartacus led by a legion of slaves trained by the best gladiators could defeat the Roman military power, when Rome changed its policy of Monarchy to Republic installs a set of laws including "Roman law" that taught the population what their rights were as Roman citizens, this helped create respect, ties and made Rome a civilized society🤩🤩

I have read a lot about many other cultures but what Rome achieved with its engineering had no comparison, this empire managed to make connections with many territories, practically Rome managed to connect the territories of Africa, as well and the Mediterranean with a system of roads or what we know Nowadays as roads, the Romans always considered all the details to create a nation with a future, that is why each step they took was always looking to the future, that is why when a city was conquered immediately they sought to communicate it with the rest of the territory to to be able to carry out commercial transactions, and the famous mail. So the Romans implemented a postal system to always maintain a hierarchy, order and communication within all their rulers!😮😮

Of course we must recognize that the Romans were one of the cleanest civilizations that existed, in the medieval era the kings were known to be very unhygienic and very dirty, there was a king who only took 3 baths in his life was Louis XIV, He always used flower perfume to disguise his scent, but despite the sadistic tastes of the Romans we rarely read a Roman emperor being a dirty character! Ancient Rome was the first civilization to create a system of "pipes" to carry sewage away from the city. While in other times people defecated in buckets and threw their waste in the street, the Romans had a more sophisticated cleaning system! They were even famous because they had public baths!😮😮

In my post when I visit the mint I investigated a little and I was surprised because a Roman was the first person to engrave his face on a coin and make it circulate throughout the Roman territory, another great contribution to the world and of course they were the Romans to be the first civilization to stop circulating food or metals as a transaction method to use their own currency! Rome was famous for its slave trade, which was a business that made the military rich when they captured enemies in wars to be sold, and this greatly influenced the economy of the empire, but a country is not forged with a type of trade ! The Romans knew this, so agriculture was another great source of income for the nation. The more the Roman Empire expanded, the richer it became! since their labor was very cheap, most of them were slaves!🤑

But Rome had a way of generating income without the need for the state to intervene directly in the exploitation of the land, so that everything was more organized and that the country made profits, all those people who did field work were charged a tax that oxylated Between 5-10% of the profit produced, it was something that every Roman citizen knew and complied with since evading taxes to the state had consequences, even the state forgives taxes on, for example, the profits generated by gladiators, inheritances and other forms of entry! It should be noted that mining was another very important income on the empire, many mines were worked by slaves who were brought before the Roman justice and sentenced to forced labor in the mines, so the state did not pay for labor in the mining!😱😱😱

Other activities in which the Roman empire stood out was in handicrafts, the empire was known for its decorations and countless works in art, blacksmithing, textile work, the creation of accessories in glass and ceramics created an internal economy that gave the freedom to choose between the Roman citizens of low status the possibility of creating their small companies, generally the high society worked with large tracts of land and slaves, and those who were between a medium and low social status could sell their talents and manual work !🤯😬🤓👨‍🏫
