Hello Cervantes friends, today I took the opportunity to enjoy nature and discover a small town hidden in the Loures parish here in Portugal, it is Migarrinhos, which is known because here we find the "da carva" mountain range and the famous "pego do diablo" cave "Both sites hide a beautiful archaeological heritage of Portugal because it is believed that the first inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula lived in all these caves. Come with me on my experience and enjoy the beautiful mountain.🌍🌄🌄

Aldea Migarrinhos🙇‍♂️🌄/Migarrinhos Village🚩🏠

At first glance it may seem like an ordinary village but Migarrinhos has a lot of history and secrets to teach, firstly the kings of Portugal to visit their vacation homes in Mafra had to go through here therefore these mountains have some passages and historical roads, to get there to Migarrinhos we must visit the Parish of Loures in the center of the country, let's say that about 20 minutes from Lisbon, you can get to the village using public transport but at a certain height you will have to walk since the archaeological sites do not have transport access and they become several beautiful trails!🌄🌍🧭👨‍🏫

When I arrived I had to walk approximately two kilometers to enter the town since the closest public transport that leaves you is in the village of "Guerreiros" however it is a fun walk and full of beautiful landscapes, my first destination was obviously to arrive to Migarrinhos, and then walk about 4km until reaching the "da carva" mountain range 🏠🌲🌄

Patrimonio cultural🙇‍♂️🌄/Cultural heritage🚩🏠

As I began to enter the smaller villages you can see the true meaning of the history that surrounds Migarrinhos, as you can see they have a restored windmill that belongs to the municipal chamber and is a symbol of Portuguese culture, the windmills were created In the 1100th century, it is believed that the Romans brought this technology to Portugal, it is very impressive to see one in such good condition.🧭🧠

As you can see there are many animals and when we arrive at Migarrinhos we immediately understand that it is a village with a high level of agriculture and livestock, some are also dedicated to creating a self-sustaining lifestyle and live in a very quiet village far from the city. The main source of energy produced here is wind power, this because Migarrinhos is more than 200 meters high and is in a mountain range with a lot of wind.🌲🕵️‍♂️🌏

Something common in Portugal and that you don't see in many countries is the preservation of the structures of the houses, for example there are many houses that still have their original fences giving them that special and old touch! Some houses are over 300 years old, such as this one here in the photo that has a design from the medieval era, is it that old?🌏🌲🌷🌼

Mountain range "da carva"🙇‍♂️🌄/Sierra montañosa "da carva" 🚩

Serra da carva is a mountain range in the center of Portugal that extends several kilometers to the aforementioned city of Mafra where the royalty would spend days on vacation, therefore Migarrinhos was a passing village, which is believed to have more than 400 years, the highest peak of the mountains is where I am with more than 450 meters high you have a beautiful view of the city of Lisbon and the river Tejo🚩🌄🧭

There are many hidden places that hikers have built over the years, such as this hidden passage where there is a very strange tree with some cuts that apparently are for climbing! As we enter the mountains you see a change in the landscape, you see many wild flat eucalyptus trees, fruit trees and many fungi, lichens and mosses typical of the Mediterranean.👨‍🏫🌷🌍

It was a spectacular and magical adventure, although I couldn't visit the caves because it was too dangerous, I managed to make a small 2km trail where the kings used to go to Mafra, which made me transport myself hundreds of years back in time! It would be an experience that I would repeat obviously!🌲🚩
