Hello friends, today I came to take a walk in a lagoon that is a few kilometers from my house, sometimes I pass by here to photograph birds and I noticed that it is perfect to see the constellations because there is not much light pollution, as we are in winter here In Portugal at 17:00 it is practically night, so it is important to come early to locate myself and practice before observing the constellation that I come today to study! we are in the presence of the famous constellation of the "swan" is very old and has some curious facts to highlight! join me in my post to study Cynus!🦢🌌
HISTORY🌌👨🎓/HISTORIA👨🏫😲
I have to admit that astronomy was never one of my favorite hobbies, I had certain curiosities about some space bodies, but even there! And thanks to HIVE for publishing scientific content I decided to invest in telescopes and little by little I became very interested in this hobby, it seems to me that it is addicted and you learn a lot, I am even able to give basic classes on how to see objects with the telescope and I have already given some family teachings! As I always say, it is useless to know a lot about something if what you have learned is not shared! Anyway ... Continuing with the theme, this beautiful constellation was already described in Ptolemy's almagest, if you don't know that this was a study carried out by a Greek where he recorded 48 ancient constellations.🧠👨🎓😁
According to Greek mythology Cygnus represent several swans there is a story that tells that Zeus becomes a Swan to be able to concede to Princess Leda in that romance it is said that Helen of Troja was born! Cygnus represents one of the constellations that are located in the northern hemisphere and it is very easy to find it in the sky, I use the SKYMAP program to get it faster, but in the previous photo you can see the degrees in which it is positioned 23 degrees. If we go to a clean area without light pollution we can see the Milky Way as the constellation crosses it! If you look closely it looks like a cross, and so it is! This constellation is also known as "the northern cross" there is also a southern cross!😮😮
CHARACTERISTICS🌌👨🎓/CARACTERISTICAS👨🏫😲
Well the constellation is comprised of 6 stars that together form the famous cross shape, but Cynus has one of the main stars in the night sky, the famous Deneb, it is known for being of the first magnitude, you know that it means that a star is of the first magnitude. magnitude?? it was actually a way that ancient astronomers referred to the stars that were the first to appear when the sun went down! Deneb is used to create the imaginary triangle called "summer triangle", it occupies 804 degrees in the sky, if you want to see Cygnus in its maximum splendor I recommend you in September at exactly 9:00 p.m.💫💫
Here we can see with another objective the details of some stars in Cygnus, this set is the so-called "northern cross" the constellation of the swan is widely studied by astronomers since there are many deep space objects, such as Campbell's star, M29 and M28 which are stellar clusters, 6 nebulae and other objects that are very interesting when observed with powerful telescopes!😮😮
SOME STARS🌌👨🎓/ALGUNAS ESTRELLAS👨🏫😲
Let's start with the brightest star in Cygnus is (alpha cygni), although it does not have a negative magnitude it is represented by 1.25 it is characterized by being a super giant white-blue star, the incredible thing is that astronomers still They have not been able to decipher the distance of Deneb, some theories believe that it is more than 3000 light years, for a star that is at that distance to be so bright has to be the equivalent of "250,000 suns".😮🧠
Now we are going to describe this beautiful yellow star that represents the second brightest of Cygnus has a magnitude basically double that of Deneb's star, 2.23! It is also a super giant and of course it is yellow, its distance from our solar system is about "1500 light years" what we observe is that its distance is twice as close to Deneb's relation!🤓🤓
Finally, this star, which is orange in color and is a super giant, has an approximate magnitude of 3.88 and is very close to us at a distance of 135 light years. But here we see that a star is not brighter because it is closer than another that is further away!🤓🧠
