A cordial greeting to all the gardeners who show us their wonderful crops every day in HiveGarden I also want to greet @riverflows and
@minismallholding who have proven to be lovers of nature and gardens, I also like plants, I confess that when I am on my farm I feel happy, because I like to hear the birds singing when they delight in my crops, as well as, I like to enjoy the aroma of the flowers in my gardens, on my farm I have always tried to plant a little of everything, because it is good to put the products of our harvests on our table.
I tell you that 78 days ago, my wife needed some sweet peppers and I had to buy them, being able to bring them from my farm, so that same day I decided to start with a sweet pepper crop, well friends, that's what I did, and soon I will start to harvest my peppers.
My sweet chili crop
the chili plant It is very resistant to climatic changes, because it develops very well, both in summer and in winter, only in winter it has to be fumigated a little more to control pests, especially whiteflies.
Chili cultivation is typical of transplant
This crop begins with the seedbeds, to produce the plants that will later be taken to the field through transplantation, because it is not recommended to sow the seed directly into the ground, because the germination and development of the plant is very slow, and it is usually invaded due to weeds that grow very fast, for this reason, it is best to transplant it when the seedlings have reached a height of 12 centimeters.
How to get chili seeds from fruits?
Well friends, although it seems easy to remove the seeds from the peppers and then plant them, it is not, because not all the seeds that the peppers have are good, generally the seeds that are located at the end of the placenta are discarded. , because they are very small, and generally stunted seedlings are born, with little development, so the ideal ones are the seeds that are found from the center of the placenta to the part of the calyx and pendulum, but it is also important that the seeds are of a good fruit, that is, of good size and color and that do not show signs of being sick:
You have to select a quality fruit:

Preparation of the chili seedbeds:
The seedbeds are usually made in polyethylene trays for germination, but they are a bit expensive, that is why I prefer to make my seedbeds in an elevated seedbed, counter type, many farmers make these seedbeds directly on the ground, but the seedlings are attacked by many insects, including stem cutters, now with my raised beds I try to avoid these problems and in addition to this substrate I use a good one that is free of weed seeds, chili seeds (sweet) germinate in 12 days, and between 25 and 30 days, can be transplanted:
Transplant in furrows for gravity irrigation:
As I said at the beginning, when the seedlings have reached a height of 10 to 12 centimeters, the transplant is carried out, this consists of placing the seedlings in rows on one side of the furrow, at a distance of 70 centimeters between them:
My sweet chili plants 65 days after transplant
Well friends, without realizing it, time passes quickly, sometimes we don't do things because we think they will take time, and look, 78 days ago I decided to plant chili, and my little plants are already bearing many fruits, I think that next week I will start harvesting, although I have already harvested some chili for my house:
So my friends, if you have a piece of land, even if it is small, decide to grow the vegetables that you consume the most at home, such as cilantro, parsley, paprika, among others, such as sweet chili, this way you will not have to buy these vegetables in the market, so don't think about it too much, regards, God bless you.
