So George, what do you mean by rule? Right? So the bill was amended. Sorry, so the bill came back and last night it was taken to the rules committee, which you need to allow for a rules process before any bill goes on the House floor. You need to agree to rule and a rule package.
Right. And then whatever amendments and rules are amended, it then goes to the floor. So this right now is a resolution on agreeing to the bill as amended.
It's not even like on the bill. So these people here are just agreeing on the simple decision of, yes, this is amended. So Massey agrees to the rule.
He voted yay on this because this is just the rule. Now, after this, if this passes, they go on to final passage. I don't know if you guys ever pay attention when you're watching C-SPAN.
It's at the top of the screen. It will tell you what level at what stage we are. Right.
So right now it's on agreeing to the resolution, as amended. Next, if this passes through and everybody agrees on the rules package associated with the bill, then it will be a final passage, agreeing to the bill of the resolution, final passage. And that's when the bill is actually passed and all the way to the President's desk because the Senate already did their thing and nothing changed.
And then the President signs it. So this is just round one of two right now. But this is the short round, right? I mean, the long round.
This is supposed to be the round where people get their confessions. If they make changes, George, does it go back to the Senate? They're not going to make changes. Nobody's going to make changes on this because then it goes back to the Senate.
Right now, what you're going to see is a shit ton of portraying. So I'm looking at the screen. I saw Guy Ruschenthaler from Pennsylvania, who's a deputy whip under Emmer, pull aside Scott Perry.
And they have a great relationship. They're both from Pennsylvania. So they're talking.
