¿Alguna vez les ha tocado organizar una actividad? De verdad es una excelente experiencia que te enseña muchas cosas y que todos deberíamos vivir alguna vez. Como ya les he comentado, pertenezco a un grupo de jóvenes católicos que presta servicio voluntario en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria en Caracas, hace unos años era coordinador del mismo junto a mi amiga Diana, durante nuestro periodo como coordinadores realizamos varias actividades para los muchachos de nuestro parroquia, pero al mismo tiempo formábamos parte del equipo que se encarga de coordinar las actividades que se realizan a nivel arquidiocesano, es decir, las que involucran a todas las parroquias de nuestra ciudad Capital, Caracas. Participamos en muchas actividades ayudando en la organización, estas nos dieron muchas alegrías y momentos únicos, hoy les quiero compartir uno de esos momentos.
Have you ever had to organize an activity? It really is an excellent experience that teaches you many things and that we should all live sometime. As I have already mentioned, I belong to a group of young Catholics who provide voluntary service in the Church of Our Lady of La Candelaria in Caracas, a few years ago I was one of the coordinators it with my friend Diana, during our period as coordinators we carried out various activities to the boys of our parish, but at the same time we were part of the team that is in charge of coordinating the activities carried out at the archdiocesan level, that is, those that involve all the parishes of our Capital city, Caracas. We participate in many activities helping in the organization, these gave us many joys and unique moments, today I want to share one of those moments with you.
En el equipo arquidiocesano se encuentran distintos coordinadores de diversas zonas de Caracas, por ello, éramos parte de un amplio grupo coordinado por dos líderes, en una de nuestras reuniones, surgió la idea de realizar una vigilia que involucrara a la mayor cantidad de jóvenes posibles para darles un rato de meditación y de esparcimiento con diversas actividades recreativas acompañadas de momentos formativos y de adoración. Muchas personas suelen pensar que los jóvenes católicos somos aburridos, que nunca nos divertimos y nos la pasamos todo el día con un rosario en la mano, por ello, uno de los objetivos de estas actividades que realizamos es para demostrar que no se debe tener esa perspectiva pues podemos disfrutar de buenos y agradables momentos. Ya había trascurrido buena parte del día y habíamos adornado la iglesia de San José, que era donde íbamos a realizar el encuentro, poco antes de empezar estábamos conversando con nuestros compañeros ultimando detalles para la llegada de los participantes, en este espacio, no faltó el momento para bromear y tomarnos algunas fotos.
In the archdiocesan team there are different coordinators from different areas of Caracas, therefore, we were part of a large group coordinated by two leaders, in one of our meetings, We had the idea of holding a vigil that would involve as many young people as possible to give them a time of meditation and relaxation with various recreational activities accompanied by formative moments and adoration. Many people tend to think that young Catholics are boring, that we never have fun and we spend all day with a rosary in hand, therefore, one of the objectives of these activities that we do is to show that people should not have that perspective as we can enjoy good and pleasant moments. A good part of the day had already passed and we had adorned the church of San José, where we were going to hold the meeting, shortly before starting we were talking with our colleagues finalizing details for the arrival of the participants, in this space, there was no lack of time to joke around and take some pictures of us.
El equipo arquidiocesano está lleno de diferentes jóvenes, cada una con un carisma y personalidad distinta, eso es lo que le da el dinamismo y alegría a cada actividad que hacemos, pues tenemos distintos puntos de vista y diferentes maneras de resolver los problemas, lo que hace mucho más amena la experiencia, más que un equipo, los miembros del mismo llegamos a ser una familia que se apoya en todo más allá del trabajo, entre ellos estaba mi amigo Ylvin, uno de los primeros que conocí al ingresar al equipo, de los más divertidos del equipo pues siempre tiene algo que decir.
The archdiocesan team is full of different young people, each with a different charisma and personality, that is what gives dynamism and joy to each activity we do, because we have different points of view and different ways to solve problems, which makes the experience much more enjoyable, it is more than a team, the members of this became a family that relies on everything beyond work, among them, there was my friend Ylvin, one of the first I met when I joined the team, one of the funniest because he always has something to say.
Por su puesto esta experiencia fue mucho mejor porque la compartí con mi amiga Diana, ella fue una de las que me recibió cuando empecé a asistir a mi parroquia y me enseñó muchas cosas, siempre la he visto como una líder natural y ser su compañero coordinador fue una experiencia inolvidable que me dejo muy buenos momentos, era muy fácil trabajar juntos porque nos entendíamos muy bien, incluso a veces nuestros amigos pensaban que éramos novios por lo unidos que éramos. Mientras esperábamos el inicio de la actividad, nos tomamos un par de fotos con la bandera de Venezuela de fondo, bandera que horas antes habíamos colocado en la parte alta de la entrada al templo.
Of course, this experience was much better because I shared it with my friend Diana, she was one of those who welcomed me when I began to attend my parish and taught me many things, I have always seen her as a natural leader and be her coordinating partner was an unforgettable experience that left me very good moments, it was very easy to work together because we understood each other very well, even sometimes our friends thought we were dating because we were so close. While we were waiting for the activity to begin, we took a couple of photos with the Venezuelan flag in the background, a flag that we had placed at the top of the entrance to the temple hours before.
Finalmente llegó la hora de iniciar y recibimos a cerca de 200 jóvenes que ese día compartieron con nosotros realizando diversas actividades, iniciamos con una oración frente al Santísimo y luego procedimos a las actividades recreativas, de verdad una experiencia increíble que me siento muy alegre de haber ayudado a coordinar, la alegría y entusiasmo de los participantes durante la misma hizo que todo el esfuerzo valiera la pena.
Finally it was time to start and we received about 200 young people who shared with us that day doing various activities, we began with a prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament and then we proceeded to recreational activities, truly an incredible experience that I am very happy to have helped to coordinate, the joy and enthusiasm of the participants during it made all the effort worthwhile.
Sin duda alguna el haber pertenecido a este equipo ha sido una de las mejores experiencias de mi vida, pude compartir con personas increíbles y realizar actividades y eventos que muchos jóvenes pudieron disfrutar, aunque actualmente ya no pertenezco a este equipo, no me arrepiento de cada experiencia vivida y me llevo la satisfacción de que pudimos llegar a diferentes jóvenes que atravesaban malos momento y así sea por unos breves momentos les pudimos brindar alegría y esperanza, por su puesto sigo asistiendo a este tipo de actividades, aunque es bueno no tener el estrés de tener que coordinar la organización, a veces lo extraño y me siento un poco nostálgico, pero sonrío porque este tipo de eventos se siguen realizando con el pasar de los años y cada vez son mejores.
Without any doubts, have belonged to this team has been one of the best experiences of my life, I was able to share with incredible people and carry out activities and events that many young people could enjoy, although currently I no longer belong to this team, I do not regret each experience and I am satisfied that we were able to reach different young people who were going through a bad time and at least for a few brief moments we were able to bring them joy and hope, of course I continue attending to these types of activities, although it is good not having the stress of coordinate the organization, sometimes I miss it and I feel a bit nostalgic, but I smile because these types of events continue taking place over the years and they get better and better.
