The elite who run the military/industrial/complex of the United States do not want to see a world at peace because they can’t make money building weapons if there are no wars. But, these elite are not completely bitty-brained. They have been watching the rapid rise of China to become a Superpower with nuclear weapons and it scares them. They are painfully aware that sooner or later something will trigger off a tit for tat exchange and that will be the end of HumanKind and nobody will be making any money anywhere.
Here is a suggestion for you: From the SuperPodium at your capital announce that you will agree to put all weapons production on hold if the Western world will do the same and join with the Chinese to use the industrial/military/complex to make the parts to build the DragonFly Asteroid Miners needed to INVADE THE ASTEROID BELT to elevate HumanKind to become a space age SuperWorld.
