Snow
I opened the bedroom curtains to find an unexpected fresh sprinkling of snow across the ground outside. I wrapped up warm in layers of knitwear and threw on my scarf and gloves.
The Green Man that watches over our garden had an extra cold nose. As I walked up to the top of my garden the birds were sat in a line along the fence, I think they were waiting for me to put some bird food down for them, and break the ice on their bird bath. Even our resident squirrels in their fur coats were looking a little colder than usual!
There wasn't enough snow to cause any major disruption to our local travel plans, just enough to make the views on our journey extra magical. As we drove along, the roads were mainly clear of snow, but there was a gorgeous glittering blanket of white across the fields and branches of the trees.
'Grass in the snow'
When we returned home I sat and made a pen drawing over acrylic paint, inspired by the snowy landscape.
