The glass lady

Today, I created a portrait in oil pastels. Thick layers of blue and white pastel construct an image of a lady in blue, a lady who is as fragile and transparent as glass. Can you read her thoughts?

True voice becomes muted
Bubbles of memories trapped within the soda-lime
As her eyes glaze over
She forgets the words
As she turns to glass
