I never did watch Eurovision, ok, uhhm, I did once in '86 and that was also the last time I made that mistake. (before that I was living in Aruba so I was fortunate to miss prior years)(insult doubled)

Phonographs have a physical limitation, a record is only vinyl after all. To compensate for that limitation a specific EQ (equalization curve) has to be added to the pre-amp to reproduce full spectrum sound. Your ADL has that capability, eliminated from so many modern Amps as unnecessary and undesirable.

Digital sound does not have that limitation, by comparison, digital audio has an ocean of head room, or depth if you prefer. This has dire consequences similar to that of the motorcycle rider who does not know when to back off. Sound engineers have since taken to using all available head room in their recordings/mix downs and for many this leads to hearing fatigue. Many reverted back to the inferior format of Vinyl, but not knowing exactly why, they simply experience it as better sound. (I use both.)

It matters not, so long as they enjoy listening to their favorite music for as long as they wish.
